Ladies and Gentlemen:
Good evening!Tonight I’m very glad to stand here to give you a speech.Today my topic is non-mainstream.
Firstly,what is non-mainstream? Non-mainstream is what opposite to mainstream.It means to make one’s individuality, which is kind of non-popularity widely known and never blindly follow the main trend. The population who pursued the non-mainstream occupies relatively minority.Non-mainstream can be ahead of fashion,or out of date.
Nowadays on internet non-mainstream culture is spreading widely ,ranging from music,photos to QQ space,blog ,or bbs and so on. In real world, when walking on the street,we can occaionally see some boys and girls in non-mainstream clothes.And maybe some of you here also a defender of non-mainstream,hehe.
Non-mainstream is a very controversial phenonmenon .Some people think that non-mainstream is a fashion and a new trend in development.Hiphop for example, HipHop in the West are living in the mainstream.While in China, in the past it’s non-mainstream music, but is now gradually in the mainstream status. However, others are against non-mainstream,they believe that it is a rubbish.It contains sex,blood and other elements,and it can have bad effects on healthy growth of youngsters, even effect the philosophy and value of them, especially in the 90's
In my opinion,one coin has two sides.Different people have different understanding on non-mainstream,so we shouldn’t make a one-sided defining on it. To be yourself is important , to catch up with the mainstream is important as well. In a word, we should have a positive attitude towards fashion,towards non-mainstream.
