-----------------------------解决办法：用记事本打开你的虚拟机虚拟配置文件(.vmx)(or .cfg)，添加下边这行
paevm = "TRUE" 如果有的话，修改（或添加）=后边的值就可以啦。保存退出，开虚拟机电源启动看看。
这个主要是因为：旧版VMWare不支持在x64处理器上安装物理地址扩展选项受影响系统: Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 Update 3, and Solaris 10.

At restart virtual machine (winxp) on a VMware wokstation 4.5.

So were you successfully able to install XP before the restart? What service pack do you have installed? What is the scsi controller you have configured with the vm? Is it buslogic? Have you tried upgrading to version 5 of workstation?

What exact version of VMware wokstation 4.5.? Please include the build number.
Be sure the virtual machine is powered off, then use a text editor to edit the configuration (.vmx) file for the affected virtual machine. Add the following line to the .vmx file:
paevm = "TRUE"
