Actually,this question is common.We always said about the duplicate using of test spec.That can be execute,but I think we need pay attention to some points.As a tester,we always find some issue and create it in our bug track management.The question is coming.
For a spec,it can contain several points in it.But,for a issue,maybe it just for one point.In order to save time and energy,we always use spec to cover the issue.There is a connotative question,I think.Take an example,the spec cover three functions.The issue just have one issue of the spec.If the issue is fixed,we use the spec to cover it and test it.Suppose the unresolved question is expose before the fixed issue.Tester maybe think that this issue is failed,even blocked,especially for fresh tester.They just know test base on the spec or steps.They can't handle some questions flexibly.Then he add comment to the platform.Developer check the issue,the complaint voice coming,it is ok,it can be passed,how did you test it.The scare thing occur,I think.This situation will lead to a bad relationship between developer and tester.They should be an interdependence unit.They have common target to finish the project under certain time and guarantee the quality.On the other hand,it also can result to the decline of the performance and effective for a long run.
I think we can resolve this question from two aspects.Certainly,you may have other good view to resolve this question.Hope we can exchange our view and improve together.Thanks!.For the tester,I mean the person just test,but not write spec and steps for issue.We must clear about the question of this issue,which point should we pay more attention and which point can be ignored in this ticket.I claim that this point is important,as that impact on judging if the issue can be passed or not.We just aim at the question of this issue.For the tester who may write spec and steps,if there is a spec can cover that issue,we certainly can use it to cover the issue.But I think,Can we add some comments for the tester who will test the issue to tell them which they should take care,which don't need.I think this method offer convenience for each other.That will reproduce much trouble between them.
