Fedora 默认安装的totem采用的gstreamer底端只能播放有版权信息的影音文件，然而国内的情况大家都知道，所以我们发现他什么都播放不了，留之无用，所以，第一步，理所当然是删除之：yum -y remove totem删除之后，安装totem-xine及浏览器的插件；首先下面安装解码器解码器下载 windows binary codecs (.DLL)可以到 http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ 下载windows-all-20061022.zip解压缩至 /usr/lib/win32 目录下即可；运行ldconfig命令；再安装totem-xine,安装之前不要忘了首先安装yum源，到这里http://rpm.livna.org/rlowiki/下载一个Fedora core 6的源配置文件，livna-release-6.rpmrpm -ivh livna-release-6.rpm配置好源了，可以安装totem-xine了, yum -y install totem-xine xine-lib-extras-nonfree totem-xine-mozplugin安装成功后.Now，你的totem现在就成为了可以和mplayer匹敌的无敌播放器了。------------------------------------------------------ubuntu下的安装方法 ：首先卸载以前的，totem$ sudo apt-get remove totem totem-mozila totem-gstreamer 接下来开始安装：安装解码器，首先下载all-20071007.tar.bz2和windows-all-20071007.zip（ 可以到mplayer的官方网站上下载，http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ ）解压缩tar jxvf all-20071007.tar.bz2 unzip -x windows-all-20071007.zip 创建文件夹sudo mkdir /usr/lib/codecssudo mkdir /usr/lib/win32拷贝解码器sudo cp all-20071007/* /usr/lib/codecs sudo cp windows-all-20071007/* /usr/lib/win32运行ldconfigsudo ldconfig配置源为 cn99 ，这样安装会很快，本文最后边有配置方法安装播放器，及其插件，前端，sudo apt-get install totem-xine libxine1-ffmpeg totem-mozilla libxine1-plugins 现在就可以使用了,但是播放RMVB的时候没有声音
改~/.xine/catalog.cache解决rmvb无声问题找到下面的句子[/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.4/xineplug_dmx_real.so]size=19624mtime=1173469910type=2api=26id=realversion=10104demuxer_priority=5 <----------主要就是改它，改为10改为：[/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.4/xineplug_dmx_real.so]size=19624mtime=1173469910type=2api=26id=realversion=10104demuxer_priority=10－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－－ubuntu的 cn99 源配置方法查看系统版本$ lsb_release -c显示类似下边的内容Codename: feisty这个就是你的ubuntu的系统版本备份 sources.list$ sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.bak修改sources.list$ sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list打开后，删除里边的所有内容，修改下边的内容，feisty全部改成你的系统版本，然后增加以下内容deb http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu/ feisty main restricted universe multiversedeb http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu/ feisty-security main restricted universe multiversedeb http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu/ feisty-updates main restricted universe multiversedeb http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu/ feisty-proposed main restricted universe multiversedeb http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu/ feisty-backports main restricted universe multiversedeb http://ubuntu.cn99.com/ubuntu-cn/ feisty main restricted universe multiverse保存后，运行$ sudo apt-get update源的配置就完成了
