One guy did some comparison among hex editors here - http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-hex-editor.htm. He complained that there is no way to change font of "Hexplorer", actually it can be done by "View"->"Options"->"Font: System Font". Its default font is too small on a high resolution screen. Besides this, the file loading behavior of hexplorer is not good. Its GUI is not refreshing when loading large file. HxD does a better job with large files.
